“A beautifully written, thought-provoking novel that I’m telling everyone I know to read.” –Kathryn Stockett, author of THE HELP
Tomorrow, my dear friends, is the day THE POSTMISTRESS will be on sale at your favorite bookseller.
There’s something very satisfying about seeing a project you’ve worked on for a long time come to fruition. For so many of us here at Putnam/Amy Einhorn Books, I think that’s what THE POSTMISTRESS is. This was the first title I read in manuscript form upon joining the Marketing department all the way back in July. It’s hard to believe we’ve been gearing up for this novel for so many months, and I know I’m just one of many who are thrilled to unveil it to the world tomorrow.
Great excitement among reviewers has already been vocalized, including an Entertainment Weekly article that so eloquently says, “There’s both exquisite pain and pleasure to be found in these pages…”
Now, I’m excited to see what happens and have my fingers-crossed that the work of so many colleagues, and the wonderful language of Sarah Blake, is embraced by readers everywhere! I welcome your thoughts.

I see it also be released as an audiobook (something I’m into), too. Would you happen to know who is doing its narration? Thanks, NW.

I am very definitely looking forward to this one. I really thoroughly enjoyed her Grange House many years ago so it’s nice to see another offering by Blake.

Le0pard13: I didn’t know you were an audio fan – when/where do you listen to the audio books? I tried to listen to a Janet Evanovich book once on a road trip and got frustrated with the slow pace. However, I think books are great in any form! The reader for THE POSTMISTRESS audio is Orlagh Cassidy (that name means nothing to me – do you recognize it?).
Kristen: I’ve never read Blake’s GRANGE HOUSE, but I loved THE POSTMISTRESS so may have to revisit her first novel! I look forward to your thoughts when you do finish THE POSTMISTRESS – you should have high expectations

Yep, I’m a big audiobook fan. When the first of my kids arrived in the mid-90′s, I found that I had ever decreasing amounts of time to read. A friend of mine, plus my wife, introduced me to the audio form, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Whatever audiobooks I acquire (disc, cassette, or download) makes it onto my iPod. That way, I can listen in the car (I have a iPod connector to play it through car’s speakers), at work and home.
In fact, I have heard this narrator before, she was part of the ensemble that re-did Frank Herbert’s Dune a couple years back. You can go here to sample her reading The Postmistress.
Thanks, NW.
